In 2004, Office Depot committed $2.2 million in funding over a five-year period to develop new information, standards and tools to advance our forest and biodiversity conservation policies.

The Alliance is our collaboration with three of the world's most respected, science-driven conservation organizations: Conservation International, NatureServe and The Nature Conservancy.

Our Alliance partners helped us develop our industry-leading environmental paper procurement policy. They are also actively involved in its implementation.

The foundation of the Alliance's work is a clear understanding of Office Depot's forest footprint. This forest footprint effort helps ensure our Alliance efforts are focused on areas where Office Depot can make the most positive impact. This will also ensure that when customers buy from Office Depot, they can be increasingly confident that they are supporting well-managed forests.
